Let’s Rapp  Robert Rapp, Department of Insurance

IAMIC is bringing back Rob Rapp, Assistant Deputy Director of the Department.  This session allows members a one on one opportunity to discuss many claims situations and share different scenarios that we are faced with when processing claims.  Focusing on the loss settlement terms will help shine the light on the responsibility of the insured.

The Secret Formula for Successful Fire Investigations.

The presentation will outline the ingredients needed for a successful investigation involving subrogation, liability, and special investigative units and/or fraud.  Adjusters will be introduced to a systematic checklist of important details and questions that will be needed to be asked and obtained to have a successful fire claims investigation.

Subrogation -- Attorney Phil Carroll 

The hour-long presentation will focus on the recognition, and investigation techniques employed to deliver the best recovery after a loss.  The presentation touches on the legal and technical theories available and explains the methods used to maximize recoveries.  In addition, we will review case studies that will allow the audience to interact and have questions answered in a variety of scenarios that are involved in common loss scenarios. 

Personal Property Inventory - HELP ME!  Mike Murphy

Getting the personal property inventory correct can be a challenge yet is vital to proper coverages and a true challenge when you need to process a claim with an insured.  Getting the personal property inventory paperwork completed after a loss causes insureds to stress and it usually is a complicated process.  This session will share ideas and guides that will help each of us in our role in the insurance company.
