This years committee has taken this years convention back to the new "normal" - Sunday: GOLF and TRAP followed by a fun evening of networking ~ Monday;: Trade Show, Annual Business Meeting and Education all day while we wrap up the day with the annual banquet ~ Tuesday: Our Industry Luncheon, Education and Motivation . You won't be disappointed this year!
Sunday's Golf will allow us to networking in a social atmosphere on the beautiful Prairie Vista Golf Course while the Trap Shoot gathers back at Darnell's for some friendly competition. Either activity doesn't require experience or expertise --however, you MUST be willing to have fun! Be sure to bring your lawn chairs to the Trap Shoot.
Monday opens with our Trade Show where members can visit our vendors and find new ways to enhance your business! We are allowing extra time in the Trade Show this year. Join us for our Prayer Breakfast where Jerry Parson's and Cliff Jacobs will entertain us with a memorable program to recognize those we have lost this year. The Opening Session is one you won't want to miss! Lt. Col. Buzz Patterson, retired from the US Air force will inspire and motivate you to be your best as he set the tone for this years convention! Be sure to let us know if you are a veteran, we are planning a special recognition! Our Annual Business Meeting & Luncheon will offer the Company Achievement & Volunteer of the Year Award. The Auxiliary program will offer many different fashion tips as a style show featuring Cold Water Creek fashions will entertain you. The afternoon will be a fantastic session on customer service...It's Not About You, it's About Them! To end the day, our NAMIC President will join us to swear in the new Chairman at our Annual Banquet.
Don't forget to take advantage of our complimentary photo's at the banquet. These will be available for you to take home to capture the atmosphere and treasured memories of this years convention! Our Banquet is our Chairman Tricia Mickley's final duty for convention - join us as we swear in our new Chairman and Officers, recognize the prestigious LAUTUM Award winner and listen to Trish's farewell speech. We will end the evening with entertaining speaker Buzz Sutherlan who many of you might remember ~ back by popular demand! 4 Continuing Education Hours will be provided on Monday.
We will start Tuesday off with a motivational specialist - Joe Tye - many of you might subscribe to his weekly newsletter "the Spark Plug" - are you a Sparky? Joe will inspire and lead you to be the best you can be! Immediately following the opening session, our Auxiliary will begin their excursion to David Davis mansion and the Tea Time Ladies! We will return from break to collaborate all of our sessions with a program Employee Engagement. Regardless of your office staff size - you will gain new insights! The Industry Luncheon will feature NAMIC 2010 Chairman, Sandy Parrillo who will join us for this event. We will also award the Fire Department of the Year Award - do you have a local department you would like to nominate?
We will wrap up convention with break out sessions for Manager's and Directors - Our Director's module will qualify for NAMIC's Director Certification program ~ are you enrolled? IF you will be qualifying for the Certification after this course, you must be registered BY July 31st to be recognized at the NAMIC convention in 2010. The Management Module will feature a IL Treasurer Department Representative who will provide you with valuable details of the legal responsibility for your company. Are you in compliance? This session will help you find the answer along with the procedures required to file. It's easy but most importantly ~ it's required! Seven CE credits will be possible on Tuesday.
We have applied to the Illinois Division of Insurance for four hours of continuing education for Monday, August 23 and seven hours of credit for Tuesday, August 24. Early Bird deadline is July 31 and hotel rooms will be released at this time. Call for your reservation today!
