2023 LAUTUM Award Winner Nancy Tavenner
East Peoria, IL – Nancy Tavenner was honored with the prestigious LAUTUM Award at the 142nd Annual Convention of the Illinois Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (IAMIC) in August 2023. Nancy was the manger of Farmers Pioneer Mutual, before retiring in 2022. Nancy was nominated by her peers for being a dependable helping hand, a knowledgeable resource, eager to help improve her Mutual and all Illinois Farm Mutuals. Nancy worked at Famers Pioneer Mutual for 31 years; she was the manager for the last 19 years before retiring in 2022. Along with running a Mutual, she served on the IAMIC Board of Directors and on several IAMIC Committees. Nancy made a huge effort to prioritize IAMIC and NAMIC throughout her tenure. She attended many events to help further her knowledge as well as continue to build those networking connections that are crucial in this industry - along with some friendships that are crucial in life. One of her peers wrote how he admired her passion for promoting the farm mutual industry. “She is respected by her peers and spent her career advancing both the interests of her Mutual and all Illinois Farm Mutuals.” Our industry agrees, and we are proud to recognize her with this honor. LAUTUM is Mutual spelled backward and stands for strength, dedication, leadership, commitment, integrity and honor. The award originated in 1972 as a measure of recognition for outstanding individual contributions to the community, the association and the mutual insurance industry. The LAUTUM Award is presented to the person who has earned the respect and esteem of his colleagues. Recipients are nominated by their peers.
