East Peoria, IL – Tony Koehler of Western Illinois Mutual Insurance Company, Carthage IL, was honored as the Volunteer of the Year for the Illinois Association of Mutual Insurance Companies at their 140th Annual Convention in August 2021 Koehler earned this award by consistently stepping up to help our Association and our industry exemplifying professionalism and integrity. He has volunteered in many different leadership roles and on different committees, but in 2021, he spent many hours studying metrics to help us plan for our future. He is always engaging in informational exchanges where he shares great insights and ideas. We strive to bring new ways to benefit our members and we use his knowledge and skillsets to help complete a project or answer a question. He has become a “master” in assembly as he shows up to help me set up and sticks around to help me tear down our events. This isn’t always an easy task, and I am grateful for his patience. As busy as he has been while running his own Mutual, he takes the time I need to help make our Association strong. I really appreciated his extra efforts, and it was my privilege and honor to give this award to Tony.” The Volunteer of the Year Award originated in 2005 as a means to recognize those individuals who generously donate their time to the success of the association.
