2017 Volunteer of the Year Award Winner
BLOOMINGTON, IL – Chris Feldt of Heartland Mutual Insurance Company, Belleville, was honored as the Volunteer of the Year for the Illinois Association of Mutual Insurance Companies at their 136thAnnual Convention in August. Feldt has won the award in the past, but this year he put “an amazing amount of time and effort” into IAMIC, serving on numerous committees and always participating, said IAMIC Executive Director Jackie Rakers. He also stepped up to share his knowledge and provide special skill sets to his peers, teaching classes in Illinois and Wisconsin, and Iowa. He serves on the NAMIC convention committee, and also developed and chaired a new Annual Golf Outing to generate funds for the Joe Reid Scholarship. The Volunteer of the Year Award originated in 2005 as a means to recognize those individuals who generously donate their time to the success of the association. The Volunteer of the Year Award is presented to a person who serves as an example of volunteer commitment and leadership. The Illinois Association of Mutual Insurance Companies is a trade association comprised of farm mutual insurance companies. Mutual insurance, like the farming industry, has been a part of the Illinois landscape for well over a century.
